The Corporate Executive Board Introduces New Strategic Research Program for Senior Operations Executives

WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 13, 2000--The Corporate Executive Board ("CEB") (Nasdaq/NM:EXBD) today announced the launch of the Operations Management Roundtable(TM), a new subscription program serving the strategic research needs of senior operations executives in large global corporations. This latest program continues the expansion of CEB's research coverage across the major functional areas of the large corporate organization structure.

"Never in our two decades of experience have we encountered a field in the midst of such profound transformation," said Derek van Bever, CEB's Chief Research Officer. "The challenges faced by the profession are enormous: the gold standard for performance has been raised from 'mere' manufacturing excellence to seamless end-to-end coordination of supply flows; senior operations executives now find themselves requiring an expert marketer's understanding of end customer needs; and the challenge of retaining young talent greatly complicates the training and education processes.

"Our ambition is to help increase the effectiveness of our members and their enterprises by identifying and communicating powerful, practical strategies and insights for addressing their large, shared concerns. By leveraging the knowledge we derive both within and across the major corporate functions, we hope to help shape strategic debate and to accelerate tactical implementation in even the most progressive corporations."

The research focus and service mix of the Roundtable were designed with guidance from a group of Charter Advisors, including senior operations executives from Alcoa Inc., Cisco Systems, Gillette, Intel, Nokia, Procter & Gamble, Rolls-Royce plc and Toyota North America. Inaugural membership meetings will be convened in Europe and North America across the third and fourth quarters of 2000.
